I'm not really sure where to post this so I'll try here as see what happens...

Where can one buy bulk sheets of Kadex. I would like to try to make my own custom holsters. Yes I have many Comp-tec and Blade tec holsters but there are improvements to each that I can see and I would like to try to make my own.

With this in mind I will need to know how to work with Kadex. How to melt it just right so it will form properly. That kind of stuff.

Anyone out there have any information?

thanks!:)

I have a buddy that makes knives and has all the equipment for working kydex.
I made a bunch of knife sheaths and tried my hand at a few holsters a couple of years ago.
It's pretty easy to work with, but you really need the proper equipment. Check over at knifeforums sheath making section for tip's, tricks and equipment recomendations. I think they had some spec's and instructions for homemade equipment also.

It has it's place, but I went back to hand making leather sheaths and holsters. I like leather much better for most purposes, there much more comfortable and way less noisy then kydex.

Thanks for the link Don!!

I think I've found a new hobby!:) Seems working with Kadex isn't all that bad and in fact seem very reasonable. Now I got to give this a try.

Any tips would be very welcomed!
