Just what the post says. I do courier/ lite freight across the eastern half of the US, and increasingly I worry about not being able to get home in the event of natural/manmade disasters. This may be nothing more that paranoia on my part, but...

Anyway, I have taken to hauling around alot of gear to assist in getting me back to my family/home. The base is a Blackhawk Cyclone pack w/ two large side pouches.

The list of gear requiring pouch suggestions is as follows:
1 Motorola flip phone
1 each smoke and OC expulsion grenade
1 compass
1 first aid kit
1 600 series Gerber MultiPliers
1 Streamlight TL-2LED Flashlight
1 small pair of Binos
1 small Fire/tinder kit
2-4 1911 mags
Long gun right now is either a Rem 870 w/20 rounds carried
or a AR w/5 30 rd mags
(will be switching AR for a FAL carbine w/four 30 rd mags when I can afford to have one built)

I know that this might seem accessive to some as this is only the equipment that is in need of external pouches to free up space in the main pockets for other gear but when you work alone and find yourself 1500 miles from home you tend to whant at the very least, what you preceive as the tools to assure your return to your family

I'll add that there is not much brand loyalty. Ineed functional gear that is well made/ gauranteed. Price is an issue but not to the point of compamising quality

Thanks in advance for all the help

Does this bag have external straps for pouches? MOLLE pouches are good for this. I had the same type of set up and needed more room in my pack. I went to a tac vest and Camelback HAWG to carry my lighter stuff. PM me I might know who has an extra M185.

The BH cyclone has 2" wide webbing on both front external pockets and on the waist belt. it also has loop fastener (similar to 5.11 Tactical jackets) on the inside of the lower front pocket. and comes with a 100 oz hydration system and room for another.
Instead of a tac-vest I would be more inclined to add a pistol belt w/ additional pouches to it. ( though I currently use a Wilderness Tactical Instructor Belt which is more than stiff enough to support added gear)
