Recently got a surplus Pelican case that was missing the old-style screw in pressure release valve. Penguin was nice enough to send me a new style auto purge valve free of charge, but I'm not quite 100% certain how to install it. I'm sure they'd be happy to answer me, but I figured I'd try here first.
Pretty simple question, actually. The old style appears to screw into a brass escutcheon that is in a hole in the case. I popped out the escutcheon, and the valve they sent does fit in tightly, but I'm not sure if it's supposed to be glued in or sealed in any other manner. If so, does the back of the valve need to be sealed to the outside of the case (hand pressure can't get it quite flush with the case, a couple of thou clearance), or just the stem on the valve to the hole in the case?
TIA,
Rocko
