Hell, let's get a damn, good old fashion GROUP BUY ON!

I'll take 3 of them at a $100 a pop! I'd rather have 3 and put them on all the rifles that I have then get one Aimpoint and have to switch it out all the time........

We should look into contacting HAKKO Japan direct......I bet they're trying to fill military orders, but I hope we could get a few direct......I think the price might be higher with the Yen being inflated........I'm not sure on the state of the Japanese economy right now.

This is the Scope in question: HAKKO TAC1 $109.00 RETAIL!!!

http://scopesandmore.meridian1.net/s/scopesandmore/Images/Products/Large/RSR-HAKTAC1.gif

The Hakko TacPoint single ring configuration is a tactical reflex red dot sight, designed specifically for rapid target acquisition in close proximity. Shorter than its two-ring brother, this 4-3/4” scope is ideal for applications with limited mounting space. This robust aluminum alloy maintube design features precision windage and elevation adjustments, Nitrogen purging for absolute waterproof integrity, and a hard anodized no-glare matte finish. The 5-stage illuminated 4MOA reticle promises quick entrainment even in low light conditions. Comparable to the Aimpoint Comp ML2 at a fraction of the price, this tactical scope is hard to beat. Ships with 30mm Weaver-style mounting ring, flip-up lens caps, & two batteries. This scope is covered by Hakko’s limited lifetime warranty.

This is a picture and description of the TAC2.

I noticed at the site that there's mention of "compare to Aimpoint".
I've never heard of Hakko.
What's the performance record of Hakko?
Are these scopes cheap copies?
Where are they made at?
Scopesnmore site doesn't have a manufactuer link for Hakko:

content of email
Hello,

I recently became aware of some of your red-dot scopes online here at this address:

http://www.scopesnmore.com/riflescopes4less/pistol/hakko_pistol_sights.htm

and have found some individuals interested in buying the Tacpoint scopes, both TAC-1 and TAC-2 models. However this website says that these items are not currently in stock.

I am on an internet forum for FN FAL rifles and want to possibly purchase a few of these scopes and possibly more as other shooters may be interested if we can get a reliable supply and good pricing on your products

you can view our forum here:

www.FALfiles.com

and a link to a current discussion on possibly getting some of your products here:

http://www.falfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=978472#post978472

Please advise as to contacting a U.S. distributor for these scopes or if we can order your products direct from you.

Thank you in advance for your consideration,

Mike Gibson

email sent to scopes n more tonite:

Hi,

I left a message on your office machine regarding the Hakko TacPoint 1 and TacPoint2 red dot scopes.

I am on a FN FAL rifle forum at www.falfiles.com and several board members as well as myself were intersted in these scopes in particular.

You can also see a thread discussion on our forum regarding this here:
http://www.falfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=113045

Your website is the only one that we've found that has the scopes listed and even the Hakko Japan company website doesnt list these scopes anyplace that I could find.

I emailed Hakko Japan as to the possible availability of purchasing a quantity of these scopes, but also wanted to ask your company since you had them listed for sale at some point.

Please advise on what we can do to get a possible group buy together for a quantity of either or both scopes. I do not have a solid number of participants as of yet, but if the scopes are made available for purchase, you will no doubt sell many depending on quantity and sale price.

Thank you in advance,

Mike Gibson

I'd be interested in one too.

I have one of their scopes -- the Bed-35. Its nice, although not military tough. I had it on a FAL and switched it to a Mac M11/9 submachine gun. So, that FAL would look good with a new scope. Incidently, I paid $170 for it, so the $140 price on that site is a good deal.

I think its nicer than the Kobra site I have on an AK, but not as nice as the EOTech I have on another FAL. Its small, so it looks cool on the Mac.

ALLRIGHT GUYS, GATHER ROUND!!!!

here is the email I received today from scopes N more WITH GROUP BUY PRICE INCLUDED!!!!!

Mr. Gibson,

Thanks for giving us an opportunity.

Unfortunately, we won't have the TacPoint 1 or TacPoint 2 scope in stock again until the end of July. We are expecting a large shipment then, and both scopes should be included in that shipment, although I don't know for sure how many. It's possible we'll see them before then, but we're not counting on it.

For a group purchase, I can offer prices as follows:

TacPoint 1 - $93.10 each + $7 shipping each
TacPoint 2 - $103.47 each + $7 shipping each

If you'd like, I can let you know when we do have them in stock again. Let me know if I can answer any further questions.

Sincerely,

M. Talley, SNM Admin

I have replied as follows:

M. Talley,

Yes, please let me know when these are about to become available and I will round up as many people on the falfiles forum as possible to put this group buy together.

Thank you so much for your prompt reply, and I look forward to doing business with you soon.

photomike
June 30, 2004, 10:32
I'm not sure on spec, check page one links.

I believe that both are no X as most red dots. The only difference I can tell between the 2 is the TAC 1 uses one mounting ring and is shorter, and the TAC 2 uses 2 rings and is slightly longer. DK for sure.

I live near Salt Lake where Nightvisionweb is located and kinda know the guys who run it. Really nice Russians. For comparison, I called them and they said their normal price is $130 and $140 for TAC-1 and TAC-2. They said they'd knock off 20% for group of 20-30 but might negotiate if I got real numbers. He said supply was the problem--they've got a few in stock and are expecting a shipment in 2 weeks.
Photomike and Texas Tactical--what are the numbers involved in a group buy, i.e. how many necessary for those prices?
I'm not trying to cut into anyone's group buy here, but the more info. we have, the better off we are.

RRotz
June 30, 2004, 12:08
Numbers stand at 24.

We have until the end of July to get as many as possible to get the lowest possible price on them coz of quantity. We're the ones with the bargaining power here coz we can get all the money together for a purchase instead of a consignment.....so it behooves us to pimp this deal to the fullest extent.

So, it benefits us to keep this thread going, keep all options open, keep adding to the numbers and get it above 100 pieces.

Then, when the boatload comes in, we give two weeks notice to get the funds in......or work with the person/organization we choose to deal with so people can send in cash, checks, money orders and credit card.

I think it's about time we move this thread into the Group Buy Forum.....but it needs to all be moved intact.

I'll contact Jen and see if she can move it for us.

Hey,

If anyone can beat the Scopes N More price I'm all for it. I was quoted no min/max number of participants from Scopes N More.

I've posted all communication so everyone could see what was up.

Thanks for calling nightvisionweb.com, larphred

At 20% the TAC1 would be $104. Is this shipping included? or would it be individual actual shipping?

If we can get the retailer to work with us as far as the $$$ transaction goes it would be great. I'd rather be able to order direct and give say my FALfiles member # or send copy of GB email direct to get the discount applied. I've got WAY too much stuff going on (I own my own business)to try to get everyone's money together. I wouldnt be able to put 110% into it, and everyone here deserves that.

That being said, if someone else wants to do it, I'm cool with it though.

Definitely progress this thread into GB mode if we can. Im down for 1 TAC-1 for now.

Let's get it on!!!!

I was at a local shop and they had the Tac1 in stock. It looked really nice and seemed comparable to the Aimpoint with fewer brightness settings. A real deal for around 100.00 and change. They also had a Hakko version of the Trijicon ACOG with the ranging and bullet drop compensation cross hairs minus the tritium illumination feature. It was really nice too and since the illuminated reticle on this ACOG model is only visible in the dark I don't think it's much of a loss. Does anyone know it they still produce these? Also it would be nice if the group buy went thourgh a dealer who supports the falfiles! 95.00 Shipped by Texas Tactical is a great deal, plus he supports the files!

Just did some reading on AR15 and what shocked me was that Hakko makes NXS optics and everyone knows that NXS has great products.....so you know that your getting good quality.

The 2x Aimpoint gets lambasted pretty regularly on the boards. Magnification on a red-dot sight slows down target acquisition and reduces field of view. If you want magnification, then the ACOG's or more traditional scopes are preferred.

The single ring setups for Aimpoint sights are very solid and stable.

My apologies if I was out of line posting to this thread. TT, no offense taken here. If you start your own thread offering these as a group buy, I'll be the first to get in line for 2 of them. At this point, it doesn't look like anyone has settled on a supplier.

The dot is 4MOA which means it will cover approx 12" at 300yds, so it's not well suited for long range varmint hunting. These sights are primarily designed for CQB and hitting a man-sized target at medium ranges.

Hey,

The Tacpoint looks like a good deal! Put me down for 3 Tac-1s if the
price is about 100.00 each.

OKAY, is this a group buy or is it a wannabe?

Texas Tactical, I checked out your web site and it does not list these scopes. While you have good prices here, do you have the scopes in stock. Or do you have another thread listing a buy for these scopes there.

Inquiring minds want to know.

weaver rails are smaller than pic rails.

weaver mounts work with pic rails.
pic mounts are too big for weaver rails.

Recent import from arfcom here,

TT, or anyone.. do either of these scopes cowitness with the AR15's sights with the stock rings? I'd like to get the TAC-2, but it seems it might lay too low and superimpose the dot onto the front sight base...

Thanks, hope to get in on this soon...

Hey guys,
I joined FAL Files for the group buy on this, but now that I found it, I think I will stick around.:)
BTW, the Tac-2 is NOT magnified. They are both 1x red dot sights and not scopes. The only difference is the length of the sight. I had called two other dealers mentioned in this thread and the both told me that the Tac-1 was the best choice for an AR. I would guess it would be better for an FAL too.

I think that this has all been very clear that the shipping time was not set in stone, participating in a group buy isn't like just ordering from somewhere, it's a much looser schedule and those that choose to play just have to relax, and wait for the goodies to show up. Setting your hopes on specific dates or time frames will just give you heartburn.

Patience my friends.

Hello, I'm new to the red dot sights. What is the eye relief on these sights or does it matter? I know how hard it is to get a good sight picture on a regular scope that doesn't have much eye relief. If it has good sight relief put me down for a TAC 1 for my M1 Carbine. Thanks...TheTodd

New guy here. I placed my order w/ Texas Tactical a few weeks ago, and as of today my CC has not yet been charged. I'm still looking for a mount for a flat top AR, so I'm in no rush.
Any recommendations for an inexpensive cantilver mount?

The rumor floating around is that the importer has not received them yet. They could be caught in customs. So, right now no one has them that I know of. I have sent E-mails to Texas Tactical and have not heard anything back. That sucks, because they are about 30 miles from me and I could pick one up within a day or two. I'll up date when I hear something and hopefullt , Texas Tactical will post something soon.

To our knowledge NO ONE has them in stock right now and they are somewhere between here and there. That is unfortunately the best answer we can give at this time and we do not know when they'll be here but will post as soon as we have some reliable information in hand as to delivery dates.

All updates are being posted to the Hakko thread in the marketplace forum. This is the easist way for us to keep everyone up to date as to the status and delivery of the Hakko TAC scopes.

Put my order in for a TAC 1. Your web page list it for $104.95 instead of the $95.00 listed above. My total came to $113.30 I know you state that the shipping wont be added when the credit card is charged, but was just wondering about the sale price of $104.95 instead of the group buy for $95.00
I have ordered from you in the past and have had nothing but good luck. I'm sure this is something that i probably overlooked, and my card will only be billed for the $95.00
Thank you for the great deal!

It looks like we have 18 extra TAC-1's that have not been sold yet. We will continue to honor the $95 shipped price on these until we are sold out. We do not know when these will be available again so now's the time to buy if you want one!

Texas Tactical
September 04, 2004, 14:19
sportsnut: your order was received and we will honor the $95 shipped price for all FAL Files members. We have now publicly posted these on our website for everyone to order hence the price change on our site. If you are a FAL Files member you can still order thru our website at the $95 shipped price. Be sure to note that you are a FAL Files member in the special instructions section on the bottom of the page you enter your address information.
