I was looking at this vest, looks nice. Anyone have any info on it? Do these hold Fal mags okay or not?
Thanks in advance.

Although I have an M83 vest, I have never tried it out, so cannot offer much info. It seems to be better for M16 gear than it does for Fal gear. There are lots of others here, who I'm sure can assit you further . Good Luck, Ohlar

They are a great bit of kit....as stated they do however work much better for 5.56 (they are designed for R4s afterall) then 7.62. I believe that soem have modified them to work with 7.62 to varing degress of success.
I have two myself.

Okay folks, thanks a ton. Wasn't sure if this was an m83 vest or not. Was kinda hard to tell from the pictures on CTD.

I have one just like this made by Sturm. I found that I had to cut out several of the dividers on the original pockets. After this was done, I could fit 12 FAL mags in the various front pockets. The two side cardo pockets can be used for other gear or more mags, which ever you prefer. The back pouch, well this depends on what water bladder you have. A 70 oz. will fit in the in the top pouch. I had a 100 oz. so I removed the bottom seprator and put it in. This rig works well for me, and it is padded well. Has belt attachements for my pistol and thigh rigs and back attachments for an assault pack if needed as well. I bought mine at Sportman's Supply for about half the cost you are spending, though price and manufacturer may be different or have gone up. Good Luck.
