I was just wondering....are G1 lowers type 1 or 2???? or 3???? i need something to match up good with a type 1 upper(you know , with all the lightening cuts)....

Type 1. :)
EVERYTHING was a Type 1 until 1962. That's from 1953 (FAL-Canada) until 1962. The G1 contract expired before 1960 at the completion of the 200k deliveries (BGS and Bundeswehr). And, Germany adopted the G3 in 1959.
Although developed in 1962, the 'cause' of the Type 2 lower is arguably shrouded in legend. Ostensibly, FN did it for applications of the FAL HB when used as a LMG/SAW. The T2 later found it's way onto nearly every form of FAL contract. Until-
The Type 3 evolved in 1973, and can be found as depot-fitted replacements on early-model G1 rifles coming from Turkey.
