I import Israeli ballistic plates and vests. I am offering a group buy on two types: Level III Famostone (a polyethylene plate, stops up to 7.62 x 51 M80 NATO Ball, non-AP) and Level-IV Ceramic plate (1 round .30-06 AP).
These are NIJ certified plates rated when used in conjunction with a Level IIIA vest. Will they stop rounds when used as stand-alone plates? Possibly, but the manufacturer has not certified is as such.
The ceramic plates weight about 7 pounds each and the Famostone is 3-3.5 pounds, but is about an 1" thick (v. 1/2-5/8" for ceramic). Level III stops up to 7.62x51 NON-AP. Level IV is ONE ROUND of .30-06 AP. Otherwise, the plates are rated for 6 hits (but not in the exact same spot...spaced about 1" or so apart). Size is 10"x12".
