I was in Boarders Books the other day and found a Brit mag called Combat and Survival. This had great articles and interesting point of view. But what really caught my eye was the history of the chest rig. I didn't even notice the girl wearing the diffrent rigs until aafter I finished the artical. If every issue of C and S is this good I think that I will have to subscribe. Are there any other magazines out there that I should be reading for good gear related articules?

If you'r interested in all period gear and not just current or "user" stuff, give "Military Classics Illustrated" a shot. They cover the whole spectrum of military gear. Everything from, maybe the Brit 95th rifles in the Napoleonic wars, to US troops in Vietnam. They have had some excellent, well written and researched articles with better gear photo's than are in most reference books. I havent been dissapointed in an issue yet, something I cant say for most mags.

I've been meaning to get a subscription, but I usually just pick it up at Barns & Nobels. If you do a web search, you'll find it as cheap as $18. a year or so, from some of the subscription services. The cover price is $4.99 and it's published by "Primedia" in Harrisberg PA, I believe bi-monthly.
