I saw a couple guys using one of these several years ago. Looked like it worked pretty slick.

I would be using it to winch elk out of deep canyons. Where packing is difficult, and using a ATV impossible.

I have used a truck with snatch blocks and 4000 ft of rope but nowadays your not allowed to drive to the edges of the canyon's.

Not to bad of a price on these.

They say it is better than a straight cable wench. I think it is rated for around 2000 lbs, Madsens out of Washington keeps them in stock.

Baileys in california and TN has them also. They say they are as strong as whatever chainsaw you use. We use caspian wenches pulling wire all the tme at work and they great.
